Local road races
Jimmy Ross announced at a previous Hale Parish Council meeting, that the road race committee is no longer able to stage the 3 races in the borough. They will continue to support the annual Runcorn to Hale 5 mile road race which normally takes place on Easter Sunday from the Runcorn/Widnes bridge. This is mainly due to the high insurance and Policing costs that are now involved. He also commented that this is the reason also that we had no parade for the 2006 Hale Carnival this year. He advised, that it would be easier to keep the carnival compast in Hale Park. He said that nearly all public events of this nature up and down the country had gone the same way.
