A clean up of Hale Shore took place Sunday the 26th of November. Volunteers from Hale Village worked hard from 10.00am removing all sorts of rubbish from the shore.
Members from the Rangers Service, Bill Webb and Halton Borough Councilor for the Hale Ward Mike Wharton where also helping with the clean up.

The clean up was necessary because of the amount of rubbish which builds up over time after each tide. The tides can wash items onto the shoreline around Hale, items noted during the clean up where, gas bottles, car wheels, tyres and plenty of drift wood.

During the clean up, the new owners of Hale Lighthouse very kindly allowed a number of volunteers to visit the Lighthouse. One of the above photographs shows Local Councilor Mike Wharton climbing to the top of the Lighthouse into the area where the large light fitting was once housed!
A special thanks goes to David and Pat Jones of Church Road who did a fantastic job with food and drink for the volunteers!!
