Wednesday saw the Friends of Hale Park conducting a public consultation exercise at the gates of the parkland, using the Councils exhibition mobile. Visitors to the park, between 10am and 4pm were asked for their opinions of the park now and any ideas they have that may improve the park for young and old. On display in and around the exhibition mobile were the plans for the renovation/revamp of the park, along with various photographs of how the park once looked under the management of the Ireland Blackburne estate 100 years ago.
There is to be a further consultation on 10th September outside the Wellington Pub Car park from 2pm to 4pm.

The opinions and ideas from those who contributed will be taken into consideration for assessing what people want for Hale Park. The final agreed plans and bid, will be submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund before the March 2008 deadline, a decision is expected within the six months of that date.
The bid includes new playground equipment, a park ranger, original track width re-instated to how the Ireland Blackburnes constructed it and more paths and walkways along with a quiet sitting area.
