Ten Police Cars Called To Hale Park?
Allegedly,,,,,during a local footie match on Saturday 29th August, things turned ugly down the park so I am lead to believe, between two football teams(?). It got that bad during the shenanigans, that it’s alleged that someone was threatened with some form of wooden implement and then,, the away side chased the home team off the pitch and around estate woodland, leaving those on the pitch no choice but to call in cops while team members played chase through the woodland (I wonder if they saw the “Grey Lady” )? This was allegedly followed by, up to 10 police cars arriving in Hale Park, to sort the affray out?
I don’t think there was ever this type of trouble when Hale Cricket Club had it , or young Spud, Garry Hallet and myself use to play and climb the old trees down there (my god,, I feel old saying this), we only ever got chased by the lovely Mrs Cox?… May be it should be handed back for grazing again, growing potatoes on, or in this day and age,,,,, housing ?

Airbus Beluga Over Hale
It’s a common site over Hale Village,, but do you know where it is exactly going? While in the park on Friday 21st August an Airbus Beluga slowly made it’s way over the park heading towards Chester (that’s clue), it was going that slow,, how does it stay airborne?
The Beluga has a regular slot at Harwarden Airport transporting cargo form Harwarden, as far as I know it carries aircraft parts for the new Airbus A380. But, you ask,, why does it fly over Hale, well,, the runway 23(two three) approach at Harwarden Airport crosses the approach of the runway 27(two seven) at Liverpool Airport on either sides of the Mersey. To land on 2.3 at Harwarden the Beluga has to cross the flight path of 2.7 at Liverpool. Although it does cross,, the aircraft that land at Harwarden are about 1500 to 2000 feet above the Liverpool Approach-over Hale Village.
This maneuver on approach to Harwarden is overseen by the controllers in the Liverpool Airport control tower down Oglet Lane, while it is in the Liverpool zone/s. As it gets near to Harwarden it is then handed over to the approach at Harwarden tower!

Save The Village Fete Campaign
For the last 3 years now,, I have been attending most, if not all of the Carnival meetings and one item on the agenda that always crops up,, is burocratic red tape, from whatever organisation, be it Police or Local Council/s. Several main issues that are always top of the list though, I have noticed,, are insurance and Policing an event.
While surfing around the interweb recently,, I spotted by accident the following campaign to “Save The Village Fete”. On the site it has several links to major News Papers, who have had input from several well known people from the UK.
http://villagefetes.ukvillages.co.uk/default.aspx
It also highlights the issues of policing and insurance, which in some cases, can downgrade an event due to costings and red tape!?
Lets hope Hale Carnival does not (in the end) fall victim to such!?
